By May 15, 2012 most of the fruits were in season and were on the end of their cycle, thus preparations began for the establishment of a nursery to plant the seeds obtained from the local trees as well as seeds obtained from friends. These included Cashew, Suriname Cherry, Custard Apple, Mango, various palms, BuKut, peppers, etc. As early as June 1, 2012 the cashew seedlings started to peek from the ground, and we watched over the months as they grew until they were ready for planting. The Suriname Cherry and the Custard apple were slow to grow, as well as some of the others. The Cashew on the other hand was ready for transplanting and by the end of October into November 650 cashew seedlings were transplanted. In March my neighbor set fire to his property and it got away and over 400 of my cashew trees got burnt, but by mid May most of them survived. I believe I lost about 50.
